The world of ideas, inventions and new products came together in Nuremberg for iENA 2024

Nuremberg – The iENA 2024 closes with a positive conclusion, the managing directors of the trade fair organiser AFAG, Henning and Thilo Könicke, are very satisfied: “The iENA was once again the international hub for innovations: The more than 500 inventions presented were able to inspire investors, product developers and the media as well as interested visitors. Numerous inventors made contacts at the trade fair in order to further develop their inventions and bring them to market maturity. We wish all inventors a successful future for their ideas.”

Herbert Boos, Chairman of the Board of the German Inventors‘ Association, is very satisfied with this year's inventors’ fair: “iENA 2024 has once again proven its ever-growing importance as an international platform for innovation and creativity. With over 260 exhibitors with 500 inventions from various industries and countries, numerous presentations and lectures, as well as highly exciting inventions ‘to touch’, it enabled its visitors and exhibitors, and thus also the German Inventors' Association and its members, to exchange ideas between inventors, entrepreneurs and investors, which is so important. The numerous award ceremonies and accolades emphasised the high potential of the ideas and inventions presented there, just at a time when Germany in particular is becoming more aware of the importance of innovation again – and will become even more so. The iENA therefore recommends itself as THE leading German trade fair for inventions and thus as a central event for future technologies. DEV is already looking forward to the next iENA.“

Among the iENA exhibitors were numerous young people who presented their inventions and developments to an international audience of experts. Helmut Ruf supervises the student inventors from the South Württemberg Student Research Centre: “For the ninth time now, we were able to experience the special atmosphere of the iENA with youth inventors. Once again, it was inspiring to see how many appreciative conversations our young people were able to have and all four groups made contacts that we will continue to pursue over the coming weeks and months. Finally, the medals on the last evening, as an award for the work, ensured a well-rounded and very successful conclusion.”

All 500 inventions presented at this year's iENA were assessed by a jury of experts. The most promising inventions were honoured on the evening of the third day of the trade fair. Jury President Prof Dr Oliver Mayer (Bayern Innovativ) saw for himself: “This year's iENA has once again exceeded expectations. The quality and wealth of inventions and innovations from over 30 countries challenged the jury when deciding on the medals.”

The partner of iENA 2024 was Indonesia with the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association INNOPA. "Our team was impressed with the overall organization of the event," said Mrs Erricha Insan Pratisi, president of INNOPA. "The trade fair exceeded expectations by attracting a high level of qualified professionals, facilitating meaningful discussions, and creating valuable business opportunities. It was an exceptional showcase of innovation, and we were proud to be a part of it."

Save the date – iENA 2025

Next year, the iENA inventors' fair will take place from Saturday, 1 to Monday, 3 November and will be accompanied by the creative and technology fair “Hack & Make”. The public trade fair Consumenta will take place parallel to the iENA, and both events can be visited with one ticket. The Innovation Congress, which focuses on the topic of innovation management, will take place parallel to the iENA on Monday, 3 November. A separate ticket is required for this event.

Next year, the iENA will take place in Hall 3C of the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre. This is the most modern hall in the exhibition centre and offers the inventors' trade fair, which is experiencing growing demand, sufficient opportunities to grow.
